Could you quickly introduce yourself?

My name is Tara Romberg. I’m 27 years old and live with my boyfriend and dog in the Dutch town of Pijnacker. My hobbies include running, horse-riding and going for walks with my dog. I also enjoy meeting up with friends and family and catching up over drinks and good food.

What’s your role at Anthura and how long have you been working here?

I joined Anthura as an intern in the HR department in February 2023. At the time, I was working on my graduation project for my Human Resources Management degree, for which I designed a brand-new annual performance review cycle. After a lot of research both within and outside Anthura, discussions with various stakeholders and learning from feedback on my design, I produced a successful cycle that is now in use at the company.

After graduating, I was offered a position as a junior HR adviser at Anthura and officially joined the company on 1 June 2023. I’ve since progressed beyond the junior level and continue to grow in this fascinating and rewarding role. Besides taking care of the ‘usual’ aspects of HR, such as recruitment, absence, employee development and leave, I also like organising activities and parties for staff.

What’s the best thing about working at Anthura?

The huge variety of people working here. I’m pretty sure we have more than 50 different nationalities on our team, all in a range of roles and from different educational backgrounds. It’s what makes my work interesting and worthwhile.

I love being part of the HR team, and I’m in regular contact with fantastic colleagues in other parts of the company. Outside work, I’m really into my sports: you will often find me at the on-site boot camp, which takes place every Thursday with a great bunch of people, and I’m also part of our runners group. In 2025, some of us ran the quarter (and some the full) marathon in Rotterdam, and we kept in touch throughout training.

What is it like to work at Anthura?

Anthura’s history as a family company shines through in every aspect of the business. There’s a friendly, informal culture, and everyone knows each other. On lunch breaks, we eat together in the canteen or go for a walk, so you always get to chat to someone new. When I first arrived, I found this was a good way to meet more members of the team. I would also say we have that ‘Rotterdam’ mindset: we work hard, we are honest with each other, and we are proud of where we work and the products we sell.

What would you say to somebody who’s new to the company?

This is a great place to work! That’s what I try to convey to candidates during interviews, which I often attend as an HR adviser. I also feel that Anthura really cares about its people. We regularly organise fun activities like networking meetings, informal gatherings, training sessions, an ‘Anthura party’, family days and Friday afternoon drinks. We are committed to our team’s vitality and health as well. Alongside our sports facilities, we have an on-site company doctor and physiotherapist and make sure our employees can see a professional coach if they need to. Our offices have fantastic workstations with sit-stand desks, very comfortable chairs and — it wouldn’t be Anthura without them — plenty of gorgeous flowers!

Do you have any tips to help new colleagues settle in?

Speak to as many different team members as possible during your breaks and remember to take full advantage of your induction period. As you tour all of Anthura’s sites, you will have the opportunity to meet your new colleagues. But most importantly of all, just be yourself and enjoy growing in your new role!
