Interview with Kamila Walentynowicz
Meet Kamila Walentynowicz. Our amazing colleague from the lab-department.
Can you introduce yourself?
Certainly, I’m Kamila Walentynowicz, 41 years old, originally from Poland. I live with my husband and our son. In Poland, I completed a technical secondary education, comparable to vocational level 4. After that, I also completed a degree in Hotel Management.
My life eventually took a different path than I had planned. In 2009, I came to the Netherlands to work and get to know the country. The intention was to stay for only three months, but those three months have become quite a bit longer 😉. The Netherlands has definitely earned a special place in my heart!
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family or meeting up with friends. Although my free time is quite limited, I also love having an occasional moment to myself. For example, on the treadmill while listening to a good podcast.
What is your role at Anthura and how long have you been working here?
I have been working at Anthura since 2011. In my role, I am team leader of the initiation team in the initiation laboratory. Among other things, I am responsible for planning and organizing the team’s activities and supporting employees. I ensure that work is carried out according to the applicable protocols and that agreements are followed. In addition, I perform quality checks, record observations, and act as a point of contact for other departments.
What do you enjoy most about working at Anthura?
What I enjoy most are the people and the variety in my work. I like working together, helping colleagues, and making sure everything runs smoothly. When I started at Anthura, I quickly felt that this was a place where I wanted to stay.
How would you describe the working atmosphere at Anthura?
The working atmosphere is collegial and respectful. There is room to help one another and to look for solutions together. I feel comfortable here and generally go to work with a positive feeling.
What would you like to tell a new employee?
Give yourself time to learn everything and, above all, don’t be afraid to ask questions. Everyone was new once. If you are open to others and take your work seriously, you will naturally learn more and more and find your place within the team.
Do you have any tips for new colleagues to help them feel at home quickly?
Maintain an open attitude and connect with your colleagues. Ask questions, get involved, and show interest in the work and the people around you. That will usually help you feel at home very quickly. And most importantly, be a little patient with yourself. You do not have to know everything right away.
